Subject: Corrigendum-II in regard to Admissions to General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife (ANM) Training Course – 2004.
1. This is in continuation of letter No.2/90/04-6HBIII/3617, dated 5/7/2004 and corrigendum issued vide letter No.2/90/04-6HB-III/ 4173-77, dated 25/7/2004. 2. The following amendments are made in the Notification through this corrigendum: (a) Para 2.1 (a), Para 3.1 (a): The following would be substituted in place to the existing sub-paras: “Age – The candidate shall be 17 years or more and 35 years or less on 31/12/2004 i.e. the candidate should have been born between 31/12/1969 to 31/12/1987”. (b) The following para would be added after the main paragraph 6 and just before para 7: 6A. GOVERNMENT NURSING INSTITUTIONS: The reservation for various categories in all government institutions will be as under (40 %):
(a) Scheduled Caste - 25% (b) Backward Classes - 5% (c) Border Area/Backward Area 1% each 2% (d) Physically handicapped (disability 50% to 70%) to be determined at the time of interview by a duly constituted board of concerned specialty). Only for orthopaedically handicap. 3% (e) Sports person (credit will be given for the sports achievements made during 10+1 and 10+2 classes only and shall be graded by the Director Sports, Punjab) 1 % (f) Wards of-Persons killed in terrorist action in Punjab and Riot affected/displaced persons 1%

Wards of Defence
Personnel (in order of preference to the exclusion of next
category) 1% (i) Killed in action (ii) Disabled in action to the extent of 50% or above& Boarded out of service (iii) Died while in service & Death attributed to Military service (iv) Disabled in service & Boarded out with disability attributed to Military Service (v) Gallantry Award/ other Award Winners both serving/ retired. (vi) Serving Defence personnel/Ex-Servicemen
(h) Wards of Punjab Police Personnel, Punjab Armed Police, Punjab Home Guards, and Para-Military Forces (in order of preference to the exclusion of next category ) 1% (i) Killed in action (ii) Disabled in action to the extent of 50% (iii) Winners of President’s Police Medal for Gallantry or Police Medal for Gallantry (i) Children/ grandchildren of freedom fighters. 1% (c ) Annexure A: (i) The name of the following institutions shall be added in the list of Amritsar District: “Guru Gobind Singh Nursing Training Institute, Amritsar – 50 seats (approved only by PNRC and not by INC). This institute has been allowed admissions with the following conditions:
(a) That
you will have Punjab Nurses Registration Council affiliation for the year
2004-05.
(b) You
will write in bracket in bold letters below the name of your institution
whereever appearing the following words, “NOT RECOGNISED BY INDIAN
NURSING COUNCIL” This would be written on the name plate/board of the
institution, in all the letters of the institution, prospectus,
advertisement appearing in the newspapers etc. (c) The following lines would be printed on the application form and would be signed by the students admitted in the institutions- “That I have been explained by the Principal that this institution is not recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and it does not have any feasibility certificate from the INC. I also know that without Indian Nursing Council feasibility certificate I will not be eligible for jobs outside the state of Punjab and in foreign countries. I am knowingly taking admission and will not make any claim against the government.”
(d) Non
compliance of above instructions would amount to deception and misleading
the students and you would be subject to both civil and criminal liability.
(e) In
the event of students complaining to the government and the above conditions
not being met by the institution the government would be at liberty to shift
the students to other institutions and you would be liable to refund the
entire amount received from those students. It is made clear that this
would not absolve you from criminal/civil liability. (f) A copy of this letter would be placed on the notice board would also be printed in the prospectus and attached with every application form.”
(ii) The entry 19: R.N.Tagore Nursing Training Institute shall be deleted. (iii) Explanation: The following would be substituted in place of existing paragraphs:
“The following institutions are not
allowed admissions since they either do not have feasibility certificate
from INC or they have been de-affiliated by the PNRC: 1. Anand School of Nursing, Amritsar – de-affiliated by PNRC 2. R.N.Tagore Nursing Institute, Pathankot – de-affiliated by PNRC. 3. Guru Nanak Nursing Training Institute, Jalandhar – de-affiliated by PNRC Guru Gobind Singh Nursing Training Institute, Amritsar has been allowed admissions with the condition as above mentioned”.
