Subject: Corrigendum-III in regard to Admissions to General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife (ANM) Training Course – 2004.

This is in continuation of letter No.2/90/04-6HBIII/3617, dated 5/7/2004
and corrigendum issued vide letter No.2/90/04-6HB-III/ 4173-77(Corrigendum
I), dated 25/7/2004 and 2/90/04-6HB-III/4467 dated 11/8/2004 (Corrigendum-II).
2. The following amendments are made in the Notification through this
corrigendum:
(1) The name of the following institutions shall be added to the list
placed at Annexure “A’ :-
Amritsar District- Guru Gobind Singh Nursing Training Institute, Amritsar
-50 seats approved only by Punjab Nurses Registration Council and not
by Indian Nursing Council. This institute has been allowed admissions
with the following observations-
“The government on reconsideration and after taking legal advice decides:
(a) That order dated 5/8/2004 cited above is withdrawn.
(b) To permit you to make admissions against the seats sanctioned by the
PNRC.
The State government expects you not to claim affiliation with the Indian
Nursing Council till such time it is granted as observed by the Hon’ble
High court in its order dated 3/8/2004 which is as under:
“However it is made clear that the petitioner shall not make any statement
contrary to the order of the High Court and shall not in any manner, claim
affiliation to the Indian Nursing Council till such time as such affiliation/permissions
is granted.”
This order/letter and admissions in your institute are further subject
to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the SLP filed by the State
of Punjab against the order of the High Court 21/4/2003 in CWP No. 9609
of 2002.”
(2)
The number of seats for Swami Vivekananda Education Society placed at
Sr. No. 36 in Annexure-A shall be read as 50 instead of 30.
(3)
The following two institutions shall be added to Annexure-B list of recognised
ANM institutions for the session 2004-
Amritsar District- New Gobind School of Nursing, Amritsar-20 seats.
Faridkot District- Baba Farid Nursing Institution Kotkapura-20 seats.
The name of Baba Farid Institute Kotkapura from the explanations shall
stand deleted.
