Subject: Provisional fee-structure for the students admitted in 2003-04 for the second year of their study – year 2004-05 in private Unaided Medical Institutes in the State of Punjab.

 

1.  I am directed to convey the order of Fee Fixation Committee headed by Mr.Justice G.R.Majithia (Retd.) dated 17/7/2004, a copy of which is enclosed herewith.

2.  You are directed:
 

(i)  to charge as an interim arrangement the fee for the students admitted in the year 2003-04 in the second year of their study i.e. 2004-05 equivalent to the provisional fee notified in the Government Notification dated 17/6/2004 and endorsed by Fee Fixation Committee vide its order dated 1/7/2004 i.e. the following fee structure shall be charged from the students admitted in the year 2003-04 for the second year of their study i.e. current year 2004-05:
 

                        MBBS course             Rs.75,000/-

                        BDS course                Rs.55,000/-

                        BAMS/BHMS             Rs.35,000/-

 

If fee in excess of the above fee structure has been charged in the year 2003-04 then before asking the student to deposit the fee for 2004-05, the fee in excess of the above fee structure shall be adjusted first. No other kind of fee/charges under any guise shall be charged.
 

(ii)        For the students admitted in the year 2003-04 if any amount in excess of the following has been charged, it is liable to be refunded forthwith:

                       

Security

Rs.5000/-

 

Development/Amalgamated Fund/Miscellaneous Fund

 

Nil

Hostel Charges

Rs.12,000/- per room for single bed  ordinary room, Rs.20,000/- single bed with air condition/attached bathroom. If two or more students share a room then charges would go down proportionately.

 

Mess Charges

Actual expenses only

           

2.  The excess amount is to be refunded forthwith and the amount of the students admitted in the year 2003-04 have to be brought inconformity with the order of the Fee Fixation Committee by 15/8/2004 failing with action might be initiated against the defaulting colleges. It is also made clear that the above fee structure is applicable to the students admitted both against government quota and management quota/minority quota seats.
