PUBLIC NOTICE-PMET 2004

Subject: Admissions in management quota in BDS/BAMS/BHMS course in private institutions in the State of Punjab.

1. The Admissions Supervision Committee headed by Mr.Justice G.R.Majithia(Retired) has received a number of complaints from the students in regard to denial of admission form, denial of prospectus, denial of receipt of complete applications etc. for admissions in BDS/BAMS/BHMS course against management quota seats.

2. The Committee in order to ensure merit based admissions and transparency has therefore decided that:
(a) Private institutions shall not finalize admissions to management quota seats till further orders;
(b) Students be given an opportunity to send a copy of their application or fresh applications made to various private medical institutions for the above mentioned courses to the University by 4/9/2004;
(c) Joint counseling will be conducted for admissions in management quota seats under the supervision of Admissions Supervision Committee.
3. The date and place for joint counseling shall be announced through the newspapers separately. The institutions which have already finalised the admissions under the supervision of Government and University shall not be included in the joint counseling.
